I voted black chrome Only if it is as durable as hard chrome. If not, Cerakote is the way to go. Then again, I would probably krylon the crap out of it! Lol......

I went with "Other".... most people have forgotten about the pre cerakote / Duracoat coatings.... since Cerakote seems to have a lock on the marketing, at least for handguns.

The original "GunKote" is still available, in "do it yourself" OR K&G GunKote can do the entire firearm for you. Years ago, I had them do a damaged 38 snubnose for me, it came back flawless and still looks perfect 10 years later.

When I had mine done, I called k&G, asked if they could recommend someone to do the work, and the receptionist put the owner on the phone. He was still doing the work himself. Give them a call and get a price. It can't hurt!

Cerakote / Duracoat a Dakota. Like whitewashing a Rembrant. Not a fan.

Um.....sort of. If you have a gun that is not a bbq gun, a working gun these coatings are the way to go. tough as all get out, don't need a lot of oil to keep it running, WAY cheaper than say a hard hat type finish. YES there is a place for a "high end" finish but the coated finishes are a good choice...
Yes I do appreciate a finely finished gun as much as the next guy. And No I would not coat any higher end gun either....

ok ok I will get off my soap box now :p:p:p

PS> not don't take offence to this Sheepdog, not trying to make you miffed....just wanted to put my point of view.

My vote is for other.

I would personally choose Robar's NP3 Plus or Roguard. I'd definitely contact Severns for additional info on Hard Hat.

IMO, that's what that gun really deserves. ;)
