I have been trained in how to clear a house etc. If there was not an immediate need for me to clear it, I would wait for the LEO's. I think you should have contingencies for clearing your house from different rooms, entrances. It is good to plan it out before you have to do it.

No I don't worry about that. I had a instance a few years ago that the wife forgot to close the gate and garage door. I got back to the house after the neighbor called me and let me know. I parked my truck and started walking up to the house with my LCP in hand. Walked around the house and noticed nothing was a miss looking inside the windows. Thats when I decided to go and close everything up and get back to work. Otherwise I would have called the PBSO if I saw anything strange in the house and waited blocking the driveway with my truck.
Then I bought a good holster for the 1911 and ended up selling the LCP. |

I typically don't, but have on a couple of occasions.

What I have read says that a single person should not attempt to clear, that only two or more trained persons should.

I put down routinely but it is more like occasionally. I make sure to do so when everyone is out of the house and with dummy rounds in my pistol but once a month or so seems to be plenty often enough.
