Permit for concealed carry is not necessary in Vermont!!
I do, however, have permits for NH and CT, which enables me to carry in many states....unfortunately, there are many "commie" states in the Northeast, which prevent me from carrying where I most need to....large urban areas. |
Yep, I have one. I got my FL CWFL in 1993. In addition, several years ago I got my retired LEO credentials (when the agency I retired from started issuing them), and I am qualified (and certified annually, at least) under the LEOSA of 2004, also known as HR218. So, I have what amounts to a 50 state CCW permit, even though there are some states where I'd be reluctant to carry, like NJ, NY, and IL (I don't plan on going there anyway). In FL, if you have a CWFL, you don't have to go through the waiting period to buy a firearm, however, if you are LEO, or retired LEO with ID, you have to wait.
My EDV varies, depending on what I'm doing and my clothing - anything from a Keltec P3AT pocket pistol, up to my 1911, to include a S&W M&P 40 Shield, a S&W 642 snubby, or a Glock 27. |
I honestly can't remember when I started carrying. Used to open carry a Ruger security six to go snake hunting with friends at sixteen. Went in the Navy at 19 and when I landed in Wa. state in 78' got my 1st CCW. So what's that Hmmm... 36? To damn long ago to remember... anyway I've always had a soft spot for the 1911, packed a variety of iron but always come back to the best.
EDC - DW Guardian BBQ - DW CBOB Tool box Mimber Eclipse II Bug - Sig P938 Equinox Boot - Cheap 22 wheelie... http://i1093.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P1000993.jpg sorry I will have to update my file photo to include Holster gear. |
I guess I should update my entry...
The SIG Fastback didn't last too long as my carry gun because it wouldn't quite fit in a cargo pocket in a usable position. So I got a SIG Ultra Carry which fits perfectly. Here it is in the cargo pocket rig. The foam keeps it from shifting and prevents printing. The result is amazingly inconspicuous since there is no discernible outline of anything in the cargo pocket. http://www.cotep.org/forum/picture.p...&pictureid=708 Note that due to the magwell, a Checkmate 8 round mag barely protrudes - just enough to make it easy to seat fully. All my full sized mags work flawlessly, so I never use Officer mags in it. Without a base pad, an Officer mag can't easily be seated anyhow. I carry 3 spare mags in the opposite cargo pocket. |
Not only a CCW permit holder....but I am an Instructor.

My wife and I have had our CWFL for almost four years. I carry a Berratta Px4 in .40. I also carry a Kershaw Tanto Blur and Syderco Perrin Street Bowie.
Occasionally I'll swap the Street Bowie out for a Hen&Rooster 8-inch Bowie. My wife carries a S&W Bodyguard. |

Have a Concealed Weapon License here in Florida for a decade. Have other states, too. Here in Florida it is clearly printed as a license, not a permit. My EDC has been a Glock 17, though now that I have had all but one of the surgeries I need, I am able to transition back to 1911's. No surprise I carry an array of Springfield 1911's, my EDC guns are all plain parkerized, low profile or no sights, rough grip texture. You guys have me slowly motivating to a DW Valor, though when I acquire that 1911 it will have night sights and grips that I will grind to fit my hands, especially the mag release.

I hot my first CCW back in CT in '97. Got my FL one in January '13. EDC is a S&W 442 but I'm trying to carry a Commander ... trying. The little Smith is so easy!
