I was about to buy a couple but it looks like the grommets are proud of the coating, a scratch hazard.

I thought the same thing as well. Not sure what the coating is.....but must be not as rough as it looks or they wouldn't market it?

The flat vehicle plates look good, especially with the engraving on it. I might just try it.

for the price I am so tempted......plate $14, magnet $14: Cheap if it works well.....

Well, I bought one, so we'll see...

They claim they're scratch resistant. Not sure why they're even there in the first place? I see the need for the tab on either side of the magnet, but just can't see need for the grommets.

The grommets are for screws to mount to a non metal surface.....?..??..

Let us know what your thoughts are when you get it , Mike.

This: 14.95

https://smile.amazon.com/TRR-Pack-Ma...+earth+magnets

OR this: 19.95

https://smile.amazon.com/TAQTON-Neod...G4S71YGQVP702B

Plus this: 5.98

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Plasti-Dip-...oating/3543514

Gets you three for about $21 -26. Maybe not as pretty.... but I think it'll work just as well. Might have to drill a countersink hole to mount to a wall, but it's 50 bucks cheaper.

Edited for Content: BUT NO! Say it isn't so!! If you click below, you don't even have to do all the work. 14.95 with free shipping from Amazon Prime

The video shows that the holes and grommets for screws are on flexible tabs much thinner than the magnet portion of the magnet assembly so will not have a contact with the hand gun. There are several variation of the same principle and those on Amazon are rated as 5 of 5 stars. A magnet in the vehicle, on the wall by the front door (inside the home:)) and night stand or bed frame makes a lot of sense if you are in a situation where a child will not have access even if a mistake is made. Several anchor points for the biometric pistol lock box opened by your finger print I think would be a great use. I am going to try it.
