Why thanks you, thank you very muuuuchhh....LOL.

My/our good friend Dale (dsparkie) made the grips and I got the screws from Brownells after searching the ends of the earth locally...they ain't cheap either! But I figured they would make the oak and the casing enlay's look good, so I bought them!

Dave Waits 05-13-2011 03:45 PM

Wow Skosh, those screws look just like the tacks my Mom used on the apolstrey on the furniture!!!

YFZsandrider 05-13-2011 08:32 PM

Don't let NK see this, or we'll never hear the end of it!

DScott 05-15-2011 10:17 PM

What's a guy to do, no 1911 collection is complete without a compact, and if DW made one i'd have had options, but.......

Dave Waits 05-15-2011 11:14 PM

Ahhh, the SemperFi-effect!

Pssst, I like Skoshs' grips. Don't tell him though.

Riverpigusmc 09-05-2011 07:11 PM

Yeah, I know the grips are'nt flat bottom for the magwell...but what can I say? They're grippier than the Kimbers were, and I LOVE that old Eagle. Still suck at posting pictures, though

Good..that took the heat off me

jmlutz 09-11-2011 02:57 PM

That's good shooting Ellison, I've never questioned the accuracy of Kimbers or their reliability, the five I had were pretty damn good guns. I sold all mine and switched to DW's only because I thought they were better. You've done a very good job on your Kimber, you've every right to to be proud of it:) Mike

skosh69 09-11-2011 03:33 PM

Thanks for your compliments and kind words Mike!

dsparkie 09-11-2011 09:19 PM

Very nice shooting, and the little girl still looks very sweet Ellison

Dave, since you have these Air Force grips you probably already know Fusion makes a USAF (new style logo) recoil spring plug, but here is a link just in case.

Note to self: wipe gun down real good before taking photos!

Thedragonslayer 12-13-2011 11:41 AM

:D And I thought this thread got locked months ago!!! :D

skosh69 12-13-2011 08:23 PM

Dreghorn, that ProCarry looks great with the bob-tail job....very nice!

Dreghorn 12-16-2011 12:35 PM

Thanks skosh. It's just roughed in, needs to be polished to the file marks out, and the msh re blued, and a set of grips made to match the bob. Was using it for EDC till I got a Guardian. Now I need to clean it up more before I put it back in the carry rotation.

Plenty of other manufacturer's made compacts long before DW, who didn't start doing it until the ECO, what 2 years ago?

The ECO has a 3 1/2 inch barrel. Compact!
The Valkyrie DOES have a Commander length slide. Correct!
