Good Evening From Tidewater VA
Well I'm the new guy on yet another forum. I love 1911s. To meet the qualifications for this forum I have two DWs; one a CBOB Patriot from early in the 2000s, that Dave Severn Hard Hatted and tweaked for me and a Patriot Marksman Stainless.
I'm a reloader using Blue Gear. Until recently my favorite load was 6.0 of Universal under a lead 200 gr LSWC.....but since the Spring the local indoor range has mandated jacketed or plated bullets and I'm in the process of settling out on a new load. Tried Berry's 200 SWC over the same 6 gr of Universal, while it is a bit cleaner I could not get them to soot as well. Will try the standard 230 grain plated over 5.5 of Universal and see how that goes. For perspective sake I'm a little guy 5' 16" and 250#. I stretch extra large work gloves to fit and I'm a bit past the half century mark with visual accuity issues that go with that. I'm a honorably discharged veteran having served in Uncle Sam's Confused Group during the 1980s. I have to admit to owning a Tuppergun (cheap Factory Ammo) and the 1911 version of the 10 round Tuppergun. Semper Paratus CBOB 003 (Always Prepared) |
I lived in Va. 28 years, and Welcome to Our Own Little Forum,

Welcome to the forum from another old, large, navy guy living in Hampton Roads!
But I'm older, larger, and the water was deeper and bluer in my navy :p Welcome aboard, and don't let the jar heads and other assorted ground pounders get you down! |
Welcome to the forum Semper Paratus!!!:)

This fine gentleman is NOT another "sailor" as somone above remarks. No no.... He is a Sailor with a New London attitude and a taste for RI clam chowder. (Home of the Coast Guard).
Welcome to our little place in the sun from a Connecticut Cotepian. Question tho.... 5' 16"???? What's up with that? You trying to confuse our retired Marines? (its easy to do that). LOL.... DaFadda |

I was stationed in New London (Groton) from '72 to '76. I really liked living there. Only problem was I was a non-bubblehead living amongst hordes of bubbleheads. My best friends were the guys at the marine barracks :) |
Welcome aboard!

Confuse the Marines? No....they were badly confused before I ever got started and they have not gotten any better.....:D
