Leather Update - really

OK here's a real update. All of my standard excuses apply, so I won't bore you with them again. I do apologize to my COTEP family. You've all been very supportive, and I have let you down. I am sorry.

One note - for the time being, I'm not taking on any new projects (knife sheaths, mag holsters, etc) - I'm already guilty of taking on more than I can handle, so it's not right that I attempt anything new before I fulfill my current obligations. In addition, for now, I'm not accepting any new orders for holsters. Some things have come up with my health that may sideline me for a bit. My goal is to have everything caught up before then.

Here's the format: Order number, order data, who, what and status

#1270 : 07APR2012 : Noel : Two tone commander IWB; Belt : Ready for highlight airbrush
#1281 : 28APR2012 : BigSmoke : Belt : Not started.
#1282 : 03MAY2012 : Mike : Commander and Government OWB, Belt : In the process of stitching
#1286 : 10JUN2012 : Sunderbrew : Belt : Not started.
#1288 : 20JUN2012 : Non-COTEP : Holster and belt : Not started
#1290 : 16JUL2012 : ColMike : Holster and Belt : Not started
#1291 : 07AUG2012 : DaFadda : M&P Holster : Not started

Also, I'm working on a belt for AutoMag (John) that's ready for dye. And a holster for Clyde that's not started.

The only promise I'll make (cause I seem to not keep them anyway) is that I'll post regular updates. It's embarrassing that I've had money from you folks for over 6 months.

If anyone would rather have a refund than wait, that's fine - I'll put a check in the mail without question. Otherwise, I'll get them done as quickly as possible.

Thanks again for your support and encouragement - I hope to earn back your confidence.

Lane

Good update and thanks for letting us know where we stand.

DaFadda 10-24-2012 06:50 AM

On my part Lane... take care of your health first. In order of importance (at least for me):

1. God
2. Family
3. Health.

somewhere between 4 and 100 is "holster."

Be well.

Someone once said, "Patience is a virtue". Take care of your health, for without health you have nothing.

Take care of yourself, Lane

First off, thanks for the support. I just reread my original message and realize it's a bit more dramatic than I intended. I'm not dying. I'm not even sick. :D I've had lower back issues for years. I had surgery 3.5 years ago, and it's time for a tune up. We won't know the extent for a couple of weeks, but from past experience, I know that IF he does cut, I'm sidelined for a couple of months. I'm planning for the worst, getting everything done that I can. Then if he says, "quit whining and get back in the dungeon" I'll be ahead, we can take orders and be off to the races.

I should have been a bit less dramatic. :D Now, back to the dungeon.

Lane,
Hope you are making great progress in your healing. Any thoughts when you might be in the shop again if ever?

Lane 03-24-2014 12:55 AM

Short answer - Yes, I will be doing holsters, belts, etc. Longer answer - I really don't know when. A lot of my equipment is still in storage.

On that note - if you have any order with me and would prefer a refund (I've refunded several already) - I'm happy to do it. I'm still planning on getting them out the door, I just can't guarantee when.

When I start taking orders again, I'm going to do it the way we started originally - you don't pay for the holster until you have it in your sweaty little paws. Obviously those that have already paid will get there orders before I open it up for new stuff.

Thanks again to all here who've been so supportive of me.

Kind of an Odd way to put it.

ColMike 03-25-2014 07:48 PM

I think I'll just cancel my order. It's been so long, I don't know what I ordered or if I even have the gun and with no projected completion date, it's just too many uncertain.
Please let me know what I need to do.
Regards,
Mike

Mike -

I fully understand and will make proper arrangement to refund your order. I'm embarrassed that I let things fall apart like this.

PM Sent.
