Nice bench. Did you build that? It's much nicer than mine.

bald1 04-14-2011 11:28 PM

my reloading "bench" is an old steel desk i found in the house we were rehabbing.
It's build like a tank, prob'ly weighs 250 pounds .

Huge drawers that will hold a ton of weight.

It's been as excellent multi-use work bench.
best part was FREE and I didn't have to build it.

I put two sheets of 3/4" Birch plywood on top (also salvaged from rehab we turned)
Make the top rock solid

i added the case feed this Summer

I can also assure you, my work space rarely looks that organized .
It's generally in a state of controlled chaos ...like my life...:D

orrwdd 04-15-2011 01:23 AM

Hey Cal, it works. that is the important thing.

CalWhit33 04-15-2011 01:36 AM

For the amount of shooting reloading its great. One day I have big dreams. A lot of good ideas can be gotten out of these guys.

I don't have pictures - yet - but my "bench" is a 24" cabinet base left over from our kitchen remodel. It doubles as the base for my leather stitcher, so space is extremely tight... :(

Yeah I built it using about $400 worth of materials from Lowes. It has adjustable shelves and a pullout shelf for the tumbler. Not bad for a first reloading setup......lol

I really like what you put together there. Did you plans from someplace, or come up with it all on your own? I don't have a place for something that nice now, but my wife says if I finish my basement, I can have a "gun" room...

titanse05 04-15-2011 11:45 AM

I'm an engineer, so yeah I had plans....lol

I used AutoCAD to draw everything up to fit my anticipated needs. It has two parts, the bench and the cabinets (which are bolted together).

The bench part is basically the same as the following bench:
http://www.shotgunsportsmagazine.com...ench_plans.pdf

The top part was all my design.

Horse'nround 04-15-2011 01:18 PM

Dang Titan- I had to run down to my bench and make sure my 8 ball was still there on my Dillon ... Whewwww! still there and a 1 ball on the old Rock Chucker.:)

Nice steup!!

Nice steup!!

Thanks.

I got my 8-ball from a guy that makes them on that glock site. Joined up just so I could PM him and get it ordered.

Horse'nround 04-16-2011 12:20 AM

Was gonna steal them off my pool table, but my uncle gave me a bag of of'em. Don't know where he stole'em from. But they work for me.

DWCoyote 04-18-2011 12:47 PM

You guys are killing me! I just moved and gave up my 8x6 dedicated reloading room. I am now trying to figure out where to setup in the new place. So far I have 3 choices - all give about 36" of bench space (I may have to use all of them :)). I guess it doesn't matter too much as I have no money for materials anyway. :(

Boo hoo poor me. Nice benches guys!

A little messy, but I call it my room.

Dave

titanse05 04-20-2011 09:00 AM

I've got that same bench too Dave. Harbor Freight special! Mine is used as a regular work bench though and has a real vice and bench grinder mounted on it.

Thats kinda funny cause I built a workbench out in the garage that has the vise and a belt sander on it. The harbor freight bench was a little nicer looking so the better half lets me keep it in the house.:D

I have my fingers crossed because I think I have her talked into letting me get a 24' x 30' shop built in the backyard.

Oh-Ya!!

THat's what I'm talkin about Bill!:D:D

Where's the Stereo & Fridge?

Them and a recliner and you won't have to go anywhere else in the house sep'n the can...

Bass Ackwardz 04-25-2011 09:41 PM

Yeah, I dont have a fridge...lol. I posted this so I would remember it. We are getting ready to move in the next 30 days, to a house, half the size our current one is. So no dedicated gun/reloading room for me. But the better half has told me time and again, that I can put a nice bench and a couple under cabinets in the dining room as long as I keep it neat...lol. We also have a storage unit in a building that was a former National Guard Armory, so thats where all the extra supplies and stuff is going to for now...

Gimme a few years to buy a nice chunk of land with a house and a shop, and I'll be all set again...lol.

Bill

titanse05 07-28-2011 09:38 AM

Looks like your reloading bench and bar service. What's the jigger for?

Randall

douglas_knott 01-21-2012 09:48 AM

Jigger? I think you see one of my two powder tricklers. :)

DaFadda 01-21-2012 03:15 PM

A couple of my reloading room / office. Mrs. wanted to move the laundry out of the basement up to the main level. She got what she wanted, and I got the old laundry room. It's almost completed, need to mount a few shelves, finish the painting.... but its actually clean enough to take a picture! Here ya go!

I built the birch cabinets from scratch about 10 years ago. I reclaimed them from the room we did over upstairs. The bear? Took it out of Upstate New York in 1978. The vibrating tumbler is new, replaced the smaller Cabela's one the I had previously. The new one came from Harbor Freight and runs like a tank. Its also quieter than the smaller one.

RandallZ 01-22-2012 04:34 PM

You guys have such nice reloading areas. I'me forced into just a small corner of my workshop.

@ randallz... ya think that thirty years with SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) has anything to do with what I get in my house? ROFLMAO. She can have ANYTHING she wants. Me? I take the leftovers.... BUT.... my reloading/office is right off the man room, with a big screen tv and surround sound. So... I'm slummmin'... but it's all good! She doesn't come downstairs except to get something from the freezer! woo hoo! LOL!

NAMVET72 01-22-2012 08:08 PM

We're at 31 plus dating for four = 35, so I understand. Mine let me build a 500 sq ft shop along with the 3 car garage. I suppose it`s my own fault I didn`t build a bigger shop. :-)
