Question for you knife experts ....
I'm looking for something like this one, and I want to eventually have a set of grips made to match the custom DW CCO grips (Walnut Burl) I'm having made.
Suggestions on brands / where to look, etc. Don't want to spend a fortune on it but would like a nice one for sure. http://i569.photobucket.com/albums/s...ne/8808049.jpg |
Those are awesome looking, not sure if they carry well. I'm no expert tho. :D
Maybe Arley can make one....?..... |

^ Thank you Sir ! :)

RKP, They make them in two sizes. I have the officer size and officer size 1911 grips fit it perfectly. They are a quality knife, at a fair price and service is quick and painless.

Have one, safe queen
Rich I have one of these 1911 knives. It came out of Canada and took a while to get it. First saw it on the 1911 forum and a few guys were upset how long it took and that they could not contact anyone in person. I waited patently and got mine just fine. I will never carry it. Kinda high dollar for decoration. Super good looking knife, the grip feels really bad, it's the shape. And I just know the finish will not stay on. One with matching grips looks great with your 1911. But like I said, not my carry knife unless I go to a nice BBQ and wanna dress up.

Are these just for show or for bbq's? I ask because the grip certainly lacks ergos and the hand would get very tired quickly if those were used for any length of time, IMO.

Works good with a Brownie Pop, and while it is bulky in the pocket, it was and is certainly up for the daily tasks. The bottom of the handle acts as a glass breaker too! I stopped carrying it when I got a fixed (non-broken :D ) knife! I'd like to get a slimline officers model next sometime in the near future, it will carry a bit better! -scott http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...2.jpg~original http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...7.jpg~original |
