Here are a few pics from my buddy.
He is a squad leader in Afganastan. He came in close contact with a rpg, 10-15 meters, and has partial blindness in his left eye from the explosion and being sprayed with rocks and debris.
This is where they sleep http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_7888.jpg his name with 3 frags in front http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_0402.jpg Picture of him holding a frag http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_7665.jpg |
Thanks for sharing those pictures Douglas!!!:)
Tell your friend and all of his friends over there to be safe and thanks for being over there to keep me and my family safe!!!!:):) |
Good pictures Doug. Tell your buddy thanks for his sacrifice. I hope he doesn't have to use the frags to get out of a tight spot.

Yes thanks for sharing the pics and story. Definitely tell him thank you and be safe.
I am not tryin to Hijack your thread but thought this was a good Topic to start. I figured I would share a few pics that my best friend sent me. I really can't say enough about our Troops. But beware a couple of the pics have the middle finger flying high, so sorry about that. My best friend I grew up with just got back from Afganastan (His 2nd tour) and he was in a Humvee that was hit with an RPG. The RPG hit the very front passenger side quarter panel area. Made a mess but everyone survived. My friend (Eric) was in back but his friend in the front passenger seat took a little shrapnel. Plus they all couldn't hear for a week or so. That's just one of the many stories and events that happened to him and his guys while he was over there this last year or so. Couple of his pics he sent me. He was the skinniest guy ever while we where growing up, he was showing everyone what they did in there spare time = http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/111f9635.jpg Sorry you guys might see some Middle fingers flung around = http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/aa230fe6.jpg This is a cell phone pic of part of the front end of his Humvee after the RPG hit. Luckily it was well armored = http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/9d9bf865.jpg He got Malaria while he was over there and he didn't take the pills they gave him and almost died from it so they printed these out and posted them everywhere around the camps = http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/cf140a8e.jpg SORRY guys there really isn't any pics of him or his guys without them flipping the camera off. This was there last day there when they were coming home= http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/3c6f8ac1.jpg Well he has spent just about 2years total over there so far and I am very happy he is back (for now at least) without to much injury but some of his buddy's weren't as lucky. Thank you to all who have and are serving this country of ours and keeping us safe here at home, you all Ellison Again thanks for sharing and starting this thread Doug.... -Ryan S |
Well both of these guys and the rest of the honorable troops are to be thanked and prayed for always! Our country is not a place (though its the greatest pace on earth), our country is it's people! These are those who have courage to stand for what is right!:salute:
