Here's my thoughts - for what they're worth...
I got a pretty good deal on belt blanks a while back, but then we had all the non-sense with the first belt project, so I decided to drop that idea. A lot of people put faith in a COTEP "brother" and got burned. It doesn't seem right to me to ask for people to invest in another project.
I'm working on a couple of prototypes to make sure I like what I come up with. At that point, I'll know how much effort is involved and then can decide on a cost.
I've thought about giving a significant discount to those who've a) bought a holster or b) got burned by the belts.
I've also thought about a "Grand Karma" and doing belts for anyone interested at my cost. I'll have to see how time consuming they are before I take that big of a step. I definitely feel like I need to give something back to the group.
What I'm thinking of will be a double thick (approx 1/4") belt, single stitched around the edges, with a simple, replaceable roller buckle in a complementary color. Probably no COTEP stamp, since i'm not sure where it'd look good.
Just some thoughts - let me know your thoughts, nothing is out of bounds.
