I went ahead and voted early, today. The machines were a bit tricky. This was the first time with a two sided ballot. Apparently, the ballot wouldn't scan when inserted the traditional way. I tried it three times. The official said, "turn it around" (i.e. reverse front and back). I did, and it went in immediately, chugged for a bit, and then said, "Your vote has been registered."
I dunno what that means.... but... I did it. I figured I'd do it now, rather than wait for election day and incur long lines, crowds, overfilled parking lot, etc. etc.... I was out there at 6:55am, while it was still dark, waiting for a 7am opening. I was 16th in line. ![]() By the way, I noticed that when I went in, showed my ID, signed the electronic pad, the ballot was printed "on demand" and handed to me. I thought they had been pre-printed. Interesting... Not that what was printed appeared any different than the sample ballot I had, but... ![]() |
