Default 2 Swede's at our Local IDPA match.

I had the pleasure of shooting in same squad with 2 guys from Sweden yesterday, They were passing through on their way to shoot in the in the Florida Open next weekend in Frostproof Fl.

After the match me and a IDPA buddy talked with them for about an hour, and learned how hard it was for them to get into Sport shooting, In Sweden guns are very Taboo, and very hard to obtain, First they must join a club, shoot for one year and make a certain score in that time, Then after that they may be approved to purchase a .22, shoot another 6 months and depending on their score may be approved to get what they consider a large caliber gun a 9mm.

Once approved the gun must stay LOCKED in a safe unless going to the range, If a gun owner uses this gun for self protection even in their own home they face 4 years in prison, they are trying to get it up to 6 years.

They are very aware of the plot of gun ownership in America and share our views on the right to bare arms. They wish that Sweden would rethink ownership there, But their voices do not carry one bit with their government.

Good Luck to both Joakim Wallin and Marcus Molin in their match next weekend.

And lets hope and pray the we never become another Sweden.
