I told him there's nothing I can do about Dallas but I can let my local department know that I appreciate them and their service to the community. He thanked me, with that same quizzical look, as I left them on the counter and walked out. Small gesture but they know one resident gives a hoot.

good for you!!! We do get food gifts from time to time in the office from various businesses or people and they are very much appreciated.

The video shows the slaying of one police officer who tried to ambush the shooter. The shooter realizes this and rather than cowering or committing suicide (typical of cowards) he fires at the officer to one side of the pillar/column the officer is behind but rushes him from the other side shooting him in the back point blank. This shooter obviously had training, knew how to react under adrenalin, and was prepared for a full gunfight, mentally and emotionally. Very few are prepared like that.

Before he does, though, he'll try to spin in his "gun control" retoric, for as far as that will go. Both he and the AG attempted that today.

Regardless of any other feelings I might have, I do have a lot of respect for the "office" of a LEO, and what for what that office stands. To gun down those fulfilling that office and those duties is just unacceptable, and those caught doing so deserve the ultimate punishment.

Thankfully, this is Texas, where they (thugs/perps) might just get it in short order!
