I did try some EEZOX(another clp like Breakfree) with a patch but did not let it sit on the gun.

Thank you for the eraser trick. I will try that first, then the 000 steel wool and some oil if need be ... interesting read from the link you sent.

Ok,

The eraser did not work, but steel wool and some EEZOX did the trick ! It completely eliminated the brass marks.

I must confess that I was a little concerned about using steel wool but the article eased my mind. It did not phase that duty coat one bit, I'm certainly impressed with the durability now !

I did get the camera out to take some shots, only to find a dead battery. So I can only give you some pics. after the repair.

DW refers to the pistols as having the "Duty Treatment" which isnt a coating at all. I think its awsome for a stainless pistol!
