Actually I too carry a variety of calibers. Summer months I carry smaller guns like 380. Church and such also gets the 380. Winter months when wearing heaver clothing I carry a 45. Depends on situation more than desire for me.
Desire would be to carry a rifle everywhere but that probably isn't so practical.

I carry a nine in a small pistol when the back's out, or a standard sized one I feel the need for a hi-cap.
Other than that; I carry a .45.

Personally, I carry a 45. Because I choose to. And as much as I shoot, I doubt I would miss! I target shoot constantly with a 45.
That said, Any gun is better than no gun. I say carry what you want to carry. But... CARRY!

Though I would not carry a .22. They are Deadly. Many a Deer has been killed with one! Shot placement! If it'll kill a deer, it'll kill a human!
