Default P365 CNC Project #1

My son Jake bought a CNC and here is the first project.

This is a magazine base pad that converts a 12 round P365 X mag to flush fit in a P365 X Macro grip. The 17 round X Macro mag pokes out the bottom of the grip creating print issues and the extra rounds add weight.

The 17 rounder is great as a backup mag but inside the gun and holster I hated it. To me it reached the point of diminishing returns for a micro 9. The extra weight and poke out made me not want to carry it. It's a bit of a trade off I guess.

This part can be found 3d printed with plastic but I wanted something better. This is his first try cutting it on the CNC and also the first go at anodizing. He's working on new lighter version with a feature in the bottom so you can use a finger to rip the mag out if it gets stuck.

Most Excellent! I guess I'm not familiar enough with this to appreciate the nuances of the mag base and how it helps with "printing" issues. My philosophy would be to buy larger capacity mags, wear a larger Aloha shirt and practice my scoop drills, reaching under that shirt.

It eliminates sharp corners of the mag sticking out, which print pretty badly and also dig into your side.

Gotcha. That, as well as ripping your clothing if you catch it while moving around or drawing, etc.
