![]()
Time for a bit of an update. I want to try some new things that may or may not turn out. And, the Chief may or may not like.
![]() I decided to play around with the small piece, since it'd be easy to cut out a new one if needed. Using an airbrush, I dyed the entire piece mahogany, and then after it dried, airbrushed the edges with black, resulting in a soft, black border. I think it looks very nice, and my wife agrees. I don't know how well it'll show in pictures - I took a couple to try and capture it: ![]() ![]() ![]() You'll notice in that last picture, I also tried adding some leather lacing to the edges - this particular pattern is called Mexican basketweave. I'm not sure if its something we'd want to add or not. My wife didn't care for it - felt that it made the look "too western." I'm 50/50 on it - I've just always wanted to give it a try. It's very time consuming... ![]() ![]() Anyway, I'm going to cut out a new piece and start putting it together - ![]() Lane
