I don't (yet) own a V-Bob, but I have two other 1911s. Neither feeds well with the Gold Dot. The round nosedives as with you.
I have found, in my limited experience, that the Gold Dot seems shorter than other makes. My two 1911s run quite well with Golden Saber hollow points. Compared side-to-side, they are visibly longer than the Gold Dots. Regards,
