Yes it is. The 9 might mouse has come a long way. My favorite 9mm SD load is the Federal HST in 124gr. Great round with awesome balistic gel tests.

Depends on barrel length....Full size...Glock 17, I lean to Federal HST in 147 grain or Winchester Ranger T in 147 grain.
Shorter barrel I would probably go to a 124 grain range, even a +p round. Trouble is finding them now, they are rare. The hydra shocks mentioned are a good round too, though I think ![]()

This also begs the question: is a four inch barrel "short" or full size? Obviously five is full and three is short but ballistically speaking, what is the four?
