| This is not your Grandpa's Kimber

I purchased a 9mm Kimber Aegis from a guy who had it only 2weeks. Yep, he tried to break it down and put a 2 inch scratch on the slide. He called Kimber and they wanted $150/to re-do the slide. He offered me the gun for $700 and I gave him $650. Now anyone who knows me, knows that I can not leave well enough alone. I photograph for one of the top 2011,1911 competition builders in the business and have access to his expertise. The firs thing I did, was to buy an Ed Brown Bobtail Jig and I had Derek, bobtail the Kimber. I had Sarge make me a set of grips for show and had Larry Davidson make me a set of G-10 Sunburst grips. Love those grips. The gun shot great, but I was not happy So I said to Derek, lets strip the slide, glass beed it and send it out for hard chrome, Now we are getting closer...... But 9mm, everyone has a Kimber 9mm, so while the slide was out, we took the barrel and opened it up to 38Super. The slide came back and now I had a SUPER KIMBER 38SUPER 4in. It shoots great, nice to carry and looks great. Here you go: Stage 1: Fancy Sarge grips and slide before re finishing Stage 2: a look at the MSH after Bobtail (Ed Brown MSH) Stage 3: After Slide refinishing Stage 4: Cut and re-crown barrel now 38Super Final Stage: Scratch Gone on Slide Well, This is my story and I am sticking to it.

Very nice! I had a Colt's commander in .38 super, and it was my carry gun for a number of years. Sorry I got rid of it, but hey, sh!t happens! Glad to see another Kimber owner on board!

Well, Thanks to all for the nice comments. It is great to shoot and you don't even know it is a 38Super until you start to collect all of the brass

Looks good Gary. So you didn't have a new 38Super barrel fitted? you re-chambered the 9mm? It does look nice. Greg
