OK Chief - here's your holster. As we go through the steps, help me know what you want. I'd prefer you post here, so everyone can follow our arguments. For starters,
told me that he liked the looks of the Tucker Gunleather HF2 Belt Holster. I hate copying other designs, but after playing with a prototype (that wound up in the garbage) I like how it works out.Anyway, this is our model: ![]() has asked that it completely cover the slide, so we'll modify this a bit. I've got a pattern made that I think will work, so I cut out the leather. Since this one will be lined, I use 6/7oz Hermann Oak Leather. I've found that Hermann Oak is the best quality for the price:![]() Here's everything with the cement applied and ready for glue up: ![]() We'll let this set and tomorrow start with some stitching. Lane

Black ops in a pink holster, sounds nice. I can remember when pink and black was cool.

I'm not sure I really have a preference. I like this style - I hope I don't get sued for copying him.
Do you like the white stitching on the mahogany dye? I can do that - I usually use black. Also, I'm playing around with a two tone dye job that I think will look good with mahogany. I've also got that Navy leather stamp that I want to incorporate into the design somewhere. We'll see what happens. Quote:

Time for a bit of an update. I want to try some new things that may or may not turn out. And, the Chief may or may not like.
, don't be shy if you see something that you're not crazy about.I decided to play around with the small piece, since it'd be easy to cut out a new one if needed. Using an airbrush, I dyed the entire piece mahogany, and then after it dried, airbrushed the edges with black, resulting in a soft, black border. I think it looks very nice, and my wife agrees. I don't know how well it'll show in pictures - I took a couple to try and capture it: ![]() ![]() ![]() You'll notice in that last picture, I also tried adding some leather lacing to the edges - this particular pattern is called Mexican basketweave. I'm not sure if its something we'd want to add or not. My wife didn't care for it - felt that it made the look "too western." I'm 50/50 on it - I've just always wanted to give it a try. It's very time consuming... ![]() ![]() Anyway, I'm going to cut out a new piece and start putting it together - if you don't mind, I'd like to go with the two tone dye - either mahogany/black or dark brown/black. But it's your holster, you make the call.Lane
