Too bad really. I've always hoped that eventually something good would become of Fusion. If it wasn't for Bob Serva it's likely COTEP wouldn't even exist. I dare say it was the outstanding quality and reasonable price point of the Bob Serva Era Dan Wesson that really started the hype and attraction to DW. Not to mention his willingness to do what no other gun company would. He brought back the 10mm in style with the limited edition RZ. He participated and allowed people to basically spec exactly what they wanted in a public gun forum. He started putting custom parts on production guns, knocking it out of the park with the CBOB. Bob Serva was just the real deal boss for a while. He's responsible for a lot of good memories.

Little hard to see in the pictures, but I am guessing that it either did not stay in the bluing tank long enough, or they did not give it enough time for the bluing to 'cure'.

It sounds dumb, but all else being equal, a blued finish that sits unmolested for 24+ hours is far more durable than one that didn't

I would also check the slide lock and anywhere else where there is wear for rough spots or a burr.

If you want it reblued, I'd be happy to rust blue it for you.

I'll take you up on that offer.

I pm'd Bob Serva over on the big board. I heard back from him. "Yes, that is completely normal for black oxide finish on a tightly fit pistol. Just oil it up and have safe fun with her."

A gun is a tool, no better or no worse than any other tool: an axe, a shovel or anything. A gun is as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that.

And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.

WTF...... apparently he doesn’t give a crap anymore. His DW days are gone.
