It actually looks pretty cool to me. I like the checkered frontstrap, but it looks like that slide will bite you. I'll wait and see. Once enough people buy one and they get the bugs worked out I'll probably grab one.

It does look a bit odd but kudos to Remington for getting back into the pistol design business. Not much original about their 1911s...They haven't really designed a pistol since what? 1917?...unless you count the XP-100 and that was 1963 - over 50 years ago.
The pistol has some interesting features like the 1911 style trigger system, and the fixed barrel.
