Someone has their wires crossed.
All single stack 1911's use standard (whatever that is) 1911 mags. The length of the gripframe determines which length (full size, or Officer's/compact) of 1911 mag must be used. The SA EMP isn't a true 1911, as dimensions have been scaled down. It uses proprietary mags and grips.
