Default New 1911 on the horizon

Just saw the new CZ 1911 A1 on their website. Emailed the company for release date and local availability. MSRP $849. This could be interesting.

Has anybody heard anything about this piece?

Looks like a Winner to Me! I would say it will hit the streets in February/March.

But why another retro model? People want the bells and whistles, not bone stock. That's just my opinion.

Not everybody If it's close in quality to the Wessons for $250-300 less I'm interested. CZ has a reputation for building quality firearms. My 75 is built like a tank and has zero issues. Hopefully this 1911 will follow suit. I'll post if and when I hear back from CZ..

There must be a good market for the retros since so many companies are making them. Usually around the $500 mark though.

I thought maybe this was a DW dressed up differently, so I looked at the specs and it's a carbon steel frame. All the DWs have stainless steel or aluminum frames.

Curious, to say the least!

I agree with you , for this I would get a RIA for way less. I know its a good quality gun, both RIA and CZ but just not putting up $900 or whatever for it.....

Spoke with CS at CZ today. Pistol will debut at Shot Show. Expected to be available end of 1st quarter. Would neither confirm nor deny whether or not it will be built at the DW factory. Will most likely have some MIM parts. Rep said he has shot the gun and it is a fairly true representation of the original 1911, he also said he will be getting one (there's a surprise). Stay tuned for further developments.....

BTW, I told him that the complaints already being lodged are about the large roll marks. Said he will pass that along...

It's not from that picture of the fixed sights shown. The rest may be, but those sights are a LOT higher and more pronounced than the milspecs of yore.
